What is RSS?

How do I use RSS?
This generally requires a News Reader program. Once you have a News Reader program installed this will display RSS information feeds from your chosen websites on your computer. All you then have to do is choose which RSS feeds you want delivered to you, for instance, the RSS feed from Update Software. Most often RSS feeds are linked to with a small icon. The most common is an XML icon like this: , but there are a number of variations on label (RSS, RSS2, XML, RDF, Atom), colour, and size, such as and .
Getting hold of a News Reader?
There are a host of different News Readers available, many of which are freely available. Most News Readers are designed for specific operating systems, for example either Windows or Mac OS, you should choose a Reader that is suitable for your operating system.
